Folding Phones are back - Is Old the New Future?
Recently folding phones are in hype and companies like Samsung and Xiaomi have also joined this trend to build folding phones.
Recently the phone which was showcased at CES and gained a lot of attention:
Royole FlexPai:

It was the first truly foldable touchscreen phone which was showcased. The Royole FlexPai is powered by Snapdragon 855 at 2.84 GHz with 6/8GB of RAM and a storage of 128/256GB that can be expanded upto 256GB via SD card.
It has a flexible AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920x1440 with a screen density of 308ppi. It has a 20MP + 16MP camera with Autofocus, OIS.
It is available to buy in buy in China right now.
Samsung' Folding phone:

This phone will be powered by an Exynos 9820 and a Snapdragon 855.
The camera should be as same as the Galaxy S10. Although Samsung hasn't told anything more than that, and this phone is still under development. We can expect it to launch in last of 2019.

Another brand that has said to release their folding phone is Xiaomi, Few days ago Xiaomi dropped a teaser of the phone. The phone looked amazing in that.
Xiaomi co-founder and president Bin Lin said this form factor is "practical and beautiful" and that it "perfectly merges the experience of a tablet and a phone." No specs or pricing information were given, but Xiaomi is currently taking votes on two possible names: Dual Flex or MIX Flex.

Huawei has also confirmed that they're also going to launch their folding phone in February 2019, but the launch was delayed due to some unknown reasons to June 2019.
They are rumors that brands like Apple, LG, Lenovo, Motorola will also be launching their folding phones in upcoming years.
So let's come to a conclusion, are the folding phones any good?
I would say "Yes" maybe, but they're not just ready yet. There are still many improvements needed. Like we saw in the Royole FlexPai, the fold was a little uncomfortable or in the Xiaomi's Folding phone, the phone was confused and projected 6 animation to get to right angle at which the phone was held.
Another question which comes to mind after using these phones is why do we need it?
I mean it's cool, but why do we need it? I don't know yet, maybe we'll find that out in future.
